Biography of Stanley Mattison

Stanley (Stan) Mattison, MBA, First Choice Business Broker

Stan’s experience includes operating a Commercial Finance Advisory firm by working with a network of lenders to inject capital to small businesses that operate outside of current banking standards.

Stan’s experience includes military, engineering and management in industry and government contracting, as well as business. Stan’s career can be summed up as one of identifying and solving problems for equipment, systems and people. Through the military and private sector industry, he has been instrumental in developing/configuring workable solutions.

Stan held various engineering roles in his 18 year career at a major contracting firm and it was during this time Stan went back to school to earn a Master’s Degree in Acquisitions. While working in government contracting, Stan provided consulting services for his wife’s CPA firm clients. He noticed far too many business owners were busy working at the business instead of taking time to work on the business’ future. A key indicator of whether their businesses survived difficult times was based on the business owner’s ability to save or secure capital to maintain and grow the business.

After several years in private industry, Stan decided to make a change to help businesses in the area of acquiring financing. During this time, he was introduced to an opportunity to help business owners sell or expand their business through First Choice.
